Welcome From Bruce Moss, President
Dear Members of the CBDNA, North Central Division:
We are greatly looking forward to having you with us at the upcoming CBDNA North Central Division Conference to be held in Omaha, Nebraska, March 13-15, 2008.
We have an exciting line up of performing ensembles, in addition to featured headliner Cliff Colnot, a unique and brilliant musician/conductor and teacher. Jim Saker at University of Nebraska and his staff are assisting in the organization of this event that will be “user friendly” as to locations, motel, and restaurants in every way. This promises to be an exciting divisional conference, and we will update this web-site as information is available.
Congratulations are in order to the wonderful ensembles who have been selected to perform in Omaha. They are: Drake University Wind Symphony, Robert Meunier, conductor; Western Illinois University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Mike Fansler, conductor; University of St. Thomas Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Matthew George, conductor; University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire Wind Symphony, Mark Heidel, conductor; Northwestern University Symphonic Band, Ryan Nelson, conductor; Lawrence University Wind Ensemble, Andrew Mast, conductor, and a finale concert by the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band, Captain Michael Willen, Commander/Conductor.
These groups will join the host University of Nebraska Symphonic Wind Ensemble,
James Saker, conductor, and the Intercollegiate Honor Band, which will be conducted by this year by Ray Cramer.
This conference is going to be an event you won’t want to miss. I look forward to seeing you in Omaha!

Greetings from James Saker, Site Host
It is a pleasure to welcome all members of the North Central Division of CBDNA to the city of Omaha and the University of Nebraska at Omaha for the 2008 Conference.
Although Nebraska is on the Western side, Omaha is easily accessible from throughout the division. (Chicago, a 7 hour drive, is closer to Omaha than is Chadron Nebraska!) Omaha’s Eppley Airfield is about 10 minutes from the campus with direct flights available from Chicago Midway and O’hare, Detroit, Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and beginning March 1 2008 - just in time for the Conference - Cleveland.
The Marriott Residence Inn, which is a short walk from the campus and numerous dining and shopping opportunities, will serve as the primary hotel. The outstanding room rates we negotiated are the same as they were in 1994 when CBDNA was last held in Omaha and include complimentary hot breakfasts each morning.
Intercollegiate band members and overflow lodging will be at the Holiday Inn Central with shuttle bus service provided to the campus and numerous dining options close by.
We are very excited to have been chosen as the host site for the 2008 event and promise we will do everything we can to make your attendance enjoyable and rewarding.
We hope to see you in Omaha!
James Saker, Site Host
